January Recap

We started off the month brainstorming ideas for the show that will be performed in 2024 and something VERY exciting for 2025 (watch this space!) There were many long days at the office so we thought we would have a little bit of renovation so we moved into a bigger workspace and added…

Hey everyone! My name is Luke and I am a part of the Fine Entertainments family! I am working closely with two of our biggest clients, Jay & Joss, so I thought I’d give you all a little introduction to me and a run-down of all of the fun we’ve been getting up to this month.

So, as I said, my name is Luke, I’ve just turned 22 and I am the creative assistant here for Jay & Joss. This means I have lots of fun helping create ideas and content for the show, I help manage their diary and busy schedule, help with a lot of admin work and sometimes will make the occasional coffee 😉

I have a long history of being within the performing arts industry starring in a range of shows like ‘Grease’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘A Dracula Spectacular’ to name a few. Then, when I got older, I secured my first professional contract at a highly reputable holiday resort in the UK. I’ve always had a passion for performing and Musical Theatre with some of my favourite current productions being Six the Musical, Mrs Doubtfire the Musical, The Play that Goes Wrong and Wicked.

Now, as you’ve learned a little bit more about me, it’s time to catch you up on all of the fun we’ve had at the Jay & Joss HQ this month!

We started off the month brainstorming ideas for the show that will be performed in 2024 and something VERY exciting for 2025 (watch this space!) There were many long days at the office so we thought we would have a little bit of renovation so we moved into a bigger workspace and added some personal touches to our desks. I’ve been loving buying lots of wax melts from my favourite company to make our office space smell incredible! They definitely make a difference helping boost our mood and creativity!

Jay & Joss have been working on an exciting project behind the scenes for a couple of months now so we’re very excited for everyone to see the end result! The boys have also been busy with private gigs where they have been hired to companies offices and peoples parties, to add an extra sparkle to their events.

My birthday was towards the end of month so we all had an amazing night out watching the incredible Cirque Du Soleil Alegria at the London Palladium! It was such a spellbinding night watching such talented performers show off their skills, they were really inspiring and we highly recommend you go see the show if you get the chance.

I also spent some time in my hometown, Durham, so I could see my family and friends which was lovely as I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like to because I’m now based 3 hours away from home. We went for a delicious carvery and let our hair down with a couple of drinks.

Dinnertime has been fun this month as I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with some tasty home cooked meals, to tour with on the road! Some of my favourite things to make have been hunters chicken, pasta with hidden cheese meatballs and a classic Sunday roast. Personally, I have quite a sweet tooth so our homemade sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was definitely my favourite!

Maybe one day we’ll create our own Jay & Joss cookbook… Who knows 😉

As you can see, it’s been a jam-packed month full of lots of exciting things! Check back next month so see what we’ve been up to, there’s a lot planned and we think you’ll love what we have lined up!

The Final 6 Months of 2025…

Looking back at the last six months of 2025, we’re not quite sure how it all fitted in. It’s been

Looking back at the last six months of 2025, we’re not quite sure how it all fitted in. It’s been busy, chaotic at times, and full of moments that remind us why we love what we do.

We started by trying to be sensible for once. After a full on start to the year, we spent a few weeks playing squash and getting ourselves back into some kind of routine before heading back on the road. It was short lived, because not long after, we were travelling again and pretty much living out of suitcases for a month.

Summer holidays meant touring our Imagination show around England, Scotland, and Wales. Long drives, early mornings, late finishes, and doing it all again the next day became normal very quickly. The audiences made it worth it though. There’s something special about summer crowds, especially when kids and families are fully up for it from the moment the show starts.

One of the big highlights was performing at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta with Party Peeps. The scale of it, the atmosphere, the balloons, and the crowds all together was pretty unreal, and definitely one of those pinch yourself moments.

Then things got even more exciting. We headed off to Greece and Turkey to perform on a cruise ship, which still feels strange to say out loud. Performing shows while waking up in a different country every few days is something we’ll never take for granted. As soon as that finished, we jumped straight onto another cruise and spent time performing our way around the Mediterranean. It was busy, but also ridiculously beautiful.

Back on dry land, we squeezed in loads of close up magic at corporate events, festivals, and weddings. These gigs are always a favourite of ours. Being right in the middle of people, chatting, laughing, and completely surprising them up close never gets old.

One of the most meaningful things we did this year was organise a charity night to raise money for Paisley, a child battling neuroblastoma. The support on the night was incredible, and thanks to everyone who came along and donated, we raised £2,000 to help fund her treatment. That night reminded us that what we do can be about more than entertainment, and that felt really special.

We finished the year exactly how we like to, with a run of Christmas parties and award ceremonies. The last few weeks were non stop, performing our show for companies celebrating the end of the year, but it felt like the perfect way to wrap up such a huge year.

When we actually sit back and think about it all, the last six months of 2025 have been exhausting, exciting, and so rewarding. From squash courts to motorways, festival fields to cruise ships, charity nights to Christmas parties, it’s been a mad journey and we’re so grateful to be on it.

Bring on next year!!

The First 6 Months of 2025…

Wow!! Can you believe we’re already over halfway through the year?!  Time is flying, and it’s safe to say 2025

Wow!! Can you believe we’re already over halfway through the year?!

Time is flying, and it’s safe to say 2025 has been packed to the brim with magic, milestones, and major moments. So grab a snack and a cuppa and settle in – here’s what Jay & Joss have been up to so far…

We kicked off January with something rare but much appreciated – a bit of downtime! Taking advantage of the quieter spell, we headed to London to catch Mean Girls: The Musical, which was just as fetch as we hoped it would be. Not long after, we jetted off to Amsterdam to celebrate our stage manager Luke’s 23rd birthday! An unforgettable trip for a truly brilliant member of the team.

Back in the UK, we supported our wonderful friend Tommy J with his solo show in Shrewsbury. We supplied our LED video wall and captured the show on film for his brand-new showreel. Always a pleasure to see talented friends shine.

Spring brought one of our biggest highlights: a residency at the legendary Wicksteed Park – Europe’s oldest theme park! Performing there is always a treat, and this time we pulled out all the stops: LED video wall, moving head lights, venue up-lighters, and…wait for it… four electric confetti cannons (because why not?!). As if that wasn’t dramatic enough, we even made their iconic train, Merlin, VANISH into thin air. Now that’s what we call a showstopper!

We also popped in to see our friend Bernie Keith on BBC Northampton Radio, it’s always a joy to catch up and share what we’ve been working on. Around the same time, we had the pleasure of performing, once again, alongside the fabulous Anne Hegarty from The Chase. Anne is an absolute delight and we’re always thrilled to share a stage with her.

This year also marks the final outing for our beloved ‘Imagination’ show, which we’ve been touring across the UK at holiday parks up and down the country. From Parkdean Resorts and Seal Bay to Searles and Waldegraves, it’s been amazing reconnecting with familiar faces and giving the show a magical send-off.

Behind the scenes, we’ve stepped into the world of magic consulting, prop building, and hiring for an exciting new UK theatre tour. We can’t say too much more just yet but trust us….it’s going to be big!

From glitzy weddings to sleek corporate events, we’ve also been travelling far and wide with our close-up magic performances. No two days are ever the same and that’s just how we like it.

Speaking of big projects… we’ve spent many late nights in the workshop building one of our most ambitious illusions to date: a jaw-dropping contraption that makes a full-size motorbike (with rider onboard)vanish into thin air! This one was custom-built for Stephen Mulhern’s 2025 Butlins summer show, and we can’t wait for audiences to see it in action.

We also returned to The Core at Corby Cube for their variety show and were blown away by the incredible local talent. It’s always an honour to share the stage with so many gifted performers.

And finally… let’s just say there are a few secret projects bubbling away behind the scenes. 👀 We don’t want to give too much away just yet, but keep your eyes peeled as there’s always something new brewing here at Jay & Joss HQ!

We can’t wait to see what the next six months have in store for us!

December Recap

Merry Christmas!  Fancy hearing what we got up to this festive season? Keep reading to find out! We started off

Merry Christmas!

Fancy hearing what we got up to this festive season? Keep reading to find out!

We started off the month by performing at an adults only break at Pontins! The show went really well and everyone loved it! It was really fun performing to a slightly more different crowd than what we’re used to. Another park we performed at was Parkdean and oh my goodness… the parks looked INCREDIBLE!! The Christmas decorations were beautiful and there were so many of them!! We couldn’t quite believe it when we drove onsite!

As it’s Christmas… of course we had to go shopping!!

We went to Bicester village to pick up some presents and have a bite to eat. There’s so many shops there, we spent hours walking around and got our steps in for the month! Haha! They even had snow machines scattered around which we thought was a really nice touch and it really helped bring an extra Christmassy touch!!

Another festive thing we did was go to Winter Wonderland and my goodness, what a magic place this is! It’s absolutely huge and full of so many different things like giant snow slides, food stalls, ice bars fun houses and even rollercoasters! We were lucky enough to see the circus there and it was incredible!!

We continued performing at Butlins, Parkdean, Haven and doing private and corporate events over the festive period and then made some time to see friends, family and celebrate the holidays 🙂

We all had a great Christmas and New Year and hope you did too!!

November Recap

What an exciting and jam-packed month November was! So many new challenges and fun adventures… let us tell you all

What an exciting and jam-packed month November was! So many new challenges and fun adventures… let us tell you all about it!

This month, we made our theatrical debut and performed our show ‘Imagination’ live at The Core at Corby Cube, but more on that later!

Wet started off the month by going to Wicksteed park firework display where we ate lots of food and played far too many fairground games! Unfortunately, we didn’t win any prizes! However, fireworks were fab and we thoroughly enjoyed them!

We did our first live theatre show! Performing at The Core Corby was a great experience and we loved getting a feel for how future tours of ours may be! We performed our ‘Imagination’ show and even did a VIP experience where we performed close up to VIP audience members! The whole night went down an absolute storm and we couldn’t be happier with how it went!

Another cool thing we did was perform at the British Metal Recycling Annual Dinner, we love doing this each year! Then we travelled 300 miles up the country to Newcastle to perform at their Magic Circle Dinner.

We also got to perform at Chessington World of Adventures as part of their ‘Cirque du Noel’ event! We also supplied them with our new video wall to help create a more interactive atmosphere!

We finished off the month by returning, once again, to Butlins and then having some well deserved rest!

Bring on December!

October Recap

October is one of our absolute favourite months of the year, so we were very excited to see what it

October is one of our absolute favourite months of the year, so we were very excited to see what it had in store for us. With Halloween vibes, busy shows and some huge milestones along the way, it turned out to be a month packed with excitement. Let us tell you what we got up to.

We kicked off October by fully embracing the spooky season and decorating our house for Halloween. We filled the space with warm autumnal colours, cosy lighting and, of course, plenty of spooky decorations too. By the time we were finished, we were more than ready for Spooktober. With the house transformed, it was straight back on the road as we headed off to Butlins for another run of shows.

One of the most exciting moments of the month was the purchase of a huge video wall. This was a massive investment for us and something we have wanted for a long time. We even travelled all the way to Belgium to collect it, but it was absolutely worth the journey. Having this video wall now means we can take our upcoming shows to the next level and create even more immersive and exciting performances for our audiences.

October also brought a very special achievement for us, as we were crowned Magic Circle Champions of Stage Illusion this year. As part of this, we performed at the Clapham Grand Theatre in London alongside the other champions from a range of different categories. The standard of performances on the night was incredible, and everyone involved was absolutely amazing. We felt so proud and grateful to be part of such a special and memorable evening.

However, not everything this month was smooth sailing. While rehearsing for the Clapham Grand performance, Jay unfortunately suffered a serious injury after falling off a prop. It was a scary moment and not an easy thing to watch. We made the decision to share the video to highlight just how dangerous what we do can be and to shed some light on the realities of performing large-scale illusions. Thankfully, Jay made a full recovery and was back to performing just a few days later. A true trooper.

Towards the end of the month, we performed at Waldegraves Holiday Park, who truly went above and beyond with their Halloween festivities. The atmosphere was incredible and perfectly matched the spooky season. We then headed over to the Isle of Wight to perform at a Halloween festival, where we had an amazing time and loved being part of such a fun and energetic event.

October was filled with creativity, excitement and a few challenges along the way, but it is months like this that remind us why we love what we do so much. We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

September Recap

We love September! We started off the month by helping our friends with some tech for a production of Six

We love September! We started off the month by helping our friends with some tech for a production of Six the Musical – Teen Edition! It was a fantastic production and we loved helping out! We provided a range of lights and scaffold towers and were even lucky enough to watch the performance.

Luckily, we were able to have some time off this month which was great as it doesn’t happen too often! We thought it would be a good idea to make the most of the last of the warm weather, so we decided go for walks each night to wind down and relax ready for bed. As September is more quiet for Butlins dates, there were a few more close up gigs in the diary for us! Its great being able to discover new places around the country and experience some wonderful moments with people.

Another exciting thing we did was ‘The Magic Circle Benevolent Fund Charity Show’ which was an incredible experience which we shared with some of our talented friends! We performed a smaller version of our show as part of a variety show which included lots of fantastic acts. We love being at The Magic Circle and it’s always a pleasure to perform there. We were very proud to be part of the night and proud of the money we raised!

There was a very special day this month… Jay turned 30! We spent the day in Minehead performing our show in Reds but we still managed to squeeze out as much celebration time as possible! Jay got absolutely spoiled and had a fantastic day!

Happy Birthday, Jay!

August Recap

August was another completely jam-packed month for us, and honestly, we’re not sure how it flew by so quickly!

Throughout the Summer Holidays, we were performing in some capacity pretty much every single day. Whether that was at a holiday park, a festival, or a special one-off event, our show was being performed more often than not. This summer saw us spending a huge amount of time at Butlins, bringing the magic to families up and down the country. On the days we weren’t there, our calendar was still bursting at the seams with exciting adventures and new opportunities, so there was never really a quiet moment.

One of the biggest highlights of the month had to be performing at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Our friends over at PartyPeeps very kindly invited us along to perform, and it was an opportunity we absolutely couldn’t turn down. The atmosphere was incredible, the crowds were amazing, and we had such a fun time being part of such a huge and iconic event.

Thankfully, the weather was firmly on our side that day, which meant once we’d finished performing, we were able to properly soak up everything the festival had to offer. From wandering around the stalls to watching the balloons take to the sky, it really was a special experience and one we’ll remember for a long time.

August also brought some very exciting behind-the-scenes moments. We had the chance to work with rapper Nines, which was a surreal and exciting experience, even if we can’t say too much about it just yet. Watch this space. On top of that, we helped out with some magic consultancy for Reading Festival, which was an absolute blast. Being able to contribute creatively and then experience the festival itself afterwards made it even more memorable.

Without a doubt, August has been our busiest month of the year so far. While we’ve genuinely loved every minute of it and feel incredibly grateful for all the opportunities we’ve had, we’re also very ready for a little bit of rest and recharge time.

So, over to you. Has anyone got any suggestions for what we should get up to next? Who knows, your idea might just feature in next month’s blog!

July Recap

July was such a busy and exciting month for us, and it honestly felt like we barely stopped moving. We

July was such a busy and exciting month for us, and it honestly felt like we barely stopped moving. We packed so much into those few weeks and travelled to lots of different places around the country, creating memories and having fun wherever we went. From performing to exploring, July had a bit of everything, so let us tell you all about it.

We kicked off the month at Butlins, and luckily the weather was on our side. With some sunshine making an appearance, we managed to spend a bit of time at the beach, which was the perfect way to ease into a busy run of shows. It was lovely being able to relax by the sea in between performances and enjoy the classic seaside atmosphere.

From there, we headed over to Shorefield, which is a beautiful holiday park and one that instantly made us feel very welcome. We were greeted with a fresh coffee on arrival, which might sound like a small thing, but it was such a thoughtful touch and definitely set the tone for our stay. After that, we continued with even more dates at Butlins, keeping the momentum going with shows and travel, while still somehow managing to squeeze in a rare day off at home.

We made the absolute most of that day off. We started the morning by heading to a small local café for a full English breakfast, which was exactly what we needed after a busy stretch of work. We then spent some time wandering around town before heading off to bingo, where Luke even managed to win, which made the day even better and gave us a good laugh.

July was also filled with some really special events outside of our usual shows. We had the pleasure of attending Northampton Pride, and it was such an incredible experience. Seeing so many people come together to celebrate being exactly who they are, while supporting and uplifting one another, was genuinely heart-warming. The atmosphere was full of love, joy and positivity, just as it should be.

One of our standout close-up gigs of the month was performing at Heritage Live. Not only was the performance itself brilliant, but we also stayed on afterwards to watch Pete Tong and his Symphonic Orchestra perform live. Experiencing that combination of dance music and live orchestral sound in such a setting was absolutely unforgettable and a real highlight of the month for us.

We also spent some time filming during July, working once again with Rendall Boys Media alongside the Reds tech team at Minehead. The shots they captured turned out incredible, and we are so pleased with how everything looks. They are genuinely amazing at what they do, and it is always a pleasure working with such talented and professional teams.

To round off the month, we performed at Searles Holiday Park, where we were very excited to spot ourselves up on their wall of fame. Seeing our names up there was such a proud moment and a lovely way to wrap up a month that was packed with performances, travel and unforgettable experiences.

July was definitely one for the books, and we cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
